The Jesuit Historical Institute in Africa (JHIA) recently welcomed representatives from AGS Records Management (Memoirist) for a courtesy visit and consultative meeting aimed at strengthening collaboration in the preservation of Africa’s documentary heritage.
The discussions focused on shared interests in archival preservation, conservation, and the long-term safeguarding of historically significant collections. The meeting also provided an opportunity for both institutions to exchange knowledge and explore future avenues of collaboration that would enhance access to and preservation of archival resources.
During the visit, the AGS team shared insights into international best practices in heritage preservation, including digitization technologies, conservation approaches, and capacity-building initiatives that support archives and cultural institutions worldwide.
JHIA reaffirmed its commitment to preserving and promoting Africa’s rich historical heritage while continuing to build strategic partnerships that contribute to the protection of documentary collections for future generations.
The Institute looks forward to further engagements with AGS Records (Memoirist) as both institutions continue to explore opportunities for collaboration in support of archival preservation and heritage conservation.
