As we turn the pages of October, we are reminded of the vitality of memory and the power of knowledge to shape communities. This month’s edition highlights the essential role of records professionals in safeguarding institutional integrity, as seen in the recent gathering of librarians and archivists at the Adventist University of Africa. Their work ensures that memory is not lost, but preserved as a resource for learning, accountability, and growth.
We also celebrate with gratitude the recognition of our Director, Fr. Jean Luc Enyegue, S.J., who was honored by the Clough School of Theology and Ministry with the Alumni Distinguished Service Award. His dedication reflects not only personal achievement but also the collective commitment of the JHIA community to scholarship and service.
At JHIA, our journey of transformation continues through the Digital Knowledge Initiative and other innovations that reposition us as a dynamic hub of collaboration. By embracing knowledge as mission, we reaffirm that archives are not simply custodians of the past, but living spaces of dialogue, research, and encounter.
As always, we remember our Jesuit brothers in their birthdays and memorials this month, lifting them in prayer and thanksgiving for their witness and companionship.
We invite you to share your reflections, edits/corrections and to contribute to the ongoing mission of preserving memory and promoting knowledge for Africa and beyond.
